Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium was introduced in 2011 and is additional funding which has been allocated to schools for the benefit of those pupils on free school meals. The funding also extends to children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, and children of service personnel.
It is up to Headteachers to decide how best to use the pupil premium but the aims should be two fold:
- to raise the attainment and progress of pupils eligible for pupil premium funding so that their performance compares favourably with Non-Pupil Premium peers.
- address inequalities in education of pupils from low-income families and raise attainment of these pupils.
Attached are reports which show: the monies received by the school in respect of pupil premium since 2011; how the funds have been utilised and the impact on attainment and progress.
