HOMEWORK
Spellings – Spellings are sent home and tested weekly. You will find your child’s most up to date spelling list in their Homework book. Can they beat last week’s score? Here are some tips for helping your child to practise their spellings:
Reading – Your child will change their books on the same day each week – details of this can be found in their reading record. Please ensure your child has their books with them on this day. Don’t forget to log in the reading record to show when you have read with your child.
Phonics – Children take part in daily phonics sessions as part of the ‘Read Write Inc’ phonics programme. Please find below links to the speed sounds chart which outlines the letters and sounds that the children will progress through, plus a guide to the letter formation rhymes.
One piece of English and Maths homework will be sent home each week. English homework will be sent home in children’s Homework books. Maths homework will be set on MyMaths. In addition to their reading books, your child also can access Bug Club – an online reading platform.
