Thank you to our first Mystery Reader!

Last week we had our first mystery reader in the Nursery. Isla’s mummy brought in a lovely book about an owl. We have been reading  stories about owls in the autumn time, so this book was very fitting. Thank you Mrs Whittaker-Axon for coming to read to us!

Nursery's first Mystery Reader

Nursery’s first Mystery Reader

Remember, parents, grandparents, carers and family members… we are always looking for Mystery Readers to come and visit Nursery to read a story. Do let us know if you are interested. We hope to see some more of you in the New Year.

Alien instructions

Last week in Y1 we received a video message from Obb the alien. He asked us to help him write some instructions so that he can make his favourite snack! We followed the recipe and made an alien sandwich.

After we had made the sandwich (and tasted it)  we thought carefully about each step before writing the instructions.

Nursery’s Winter Wonderland…

It’s officially December, which surely means it’s time for all things wintery! That’s certainly the case here in Nursery…

We have had our very own Elsa’s Ice Palace built in our classroom, complete with Anna and Elsa characters!  DSC06846DSC06843 We have also been exploring different things that happen in winter: last week we arrived at Nursery and found that there was ice outside! It was very cold and slippery, brrrr! We discussed how the ice might have got there, and what would happen to it if we brought it inside and left it in a warm place. DSC06801DSC06804 Our classroom is now decorated for the Christmas season and we have been tirelessly practising for our Christmas Show on Wednesday 9th December. Here’s a sneak peek at part of our costumes too!DSC06914DSC06795DSC06915DSC06916

We hope you’re making the most of the cold weather and your Christmas shopping is underway because there are only 2 weeks until the Xmas holidays…

See you soon,
Merry Christmas!

Miss Freebairn, Mrs Gordon, Mrs Platt-McHenry and all the Nursery children.
