STAR OF THE WEEK – 22.11.19

    Joe-Joe!
for his new-found attitude towards writing. Joe-Joe really tried hard during the innovation stage of our story writing last week. He showed lots of determination and made sure to ask for help when he wasn’t sure what to do next – he didn’t give up when it got tough! I am very proud of you Joe-Joe, keep it up!

    Well done!

    THIS WEEK’S SHOW STOPPER

This week’s Showstopper is: Holly, Harvey and Brody!

Click here to see and read more about the work that these children did during a recent RE lesson. What lovely ideas!

    Homework

Spellings – Spellings are sent home with homework on a Friday and tested weekly on the following Wednesday. You will find your child’s most up to date spelling list in their Homework book. Can they beat last week’s score?

Reading – Your child will change their books on the same day each week – details of this can be found on the front of their yellow reading record. Please ensure your child has their books with them on this day. Don’t forget to log in the reading record to show when you have read with your child.

Phonics – Children take part in daily phonics sessions as part of the ‘Read Write Inc’ phonics programme. Please find below links to the speed sounds chart which outlines the letters and sounds that the children will progress through over the year. You can also find a guide to the letter formation rhymes that we use in school to support your child with correct letter formation at home.

English homework will be sent home in children’s Homework books. Maths homework will be set on MyMaths (you should have received a slip with your child’s unique login). In addition to their reading books, your child also can access Bug Club – an online reading platform.
